Train your dog in an engaging and fun filled environment
Our group classes allow you to build relationships with other dog owners in the Exeter area. You’ll have fun and make friends whilst teaching your dog the Pro Dog trainer principles of reinforcing good choices through play and games.
In your training group you will be able to support one another, share funny stories, and learn how your dog might not be as naughty as you thought. There’s no competition here: we work on progression, not perfection.
Together with my best boy Merlin, you and your dog will learn concepts such as calmness, proximity, and disengagement. These alone will help your dog see you as the centre of their world.
The orientation game teaches Missy (a Tibetan Spaniel) confidence, engagement, disengagement, focus, optimism and proximity
Rose demonstrating Magic hand with Merlin (her Border Collie) which teaches disengagement, engagement, focus, optimism, proximity, thinking in arousal
Flash, the Border Collie / Golden Retriever cross learns middle. This teaches concepts such as arousal up, arousal down, confidence, disengagement, engagement, flexibility, focus, optimism, proximity, and self-control
The mouse game teaches Mister Pickles (a pug / french bulldog cross) arousal up, arousal down, disengagement and engagement, focus, self-control, thinking in arousal, and tolerance of frustration
Book onto our group class
Our group classes are every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. I encourage you to book a recurring session to avoid disappointment. We run our sessions at King George V Playing field, Topsham Road, Exeter (meet at the car park off Countess Wear Road).
Once you have booked in with me, you don’t just receive the training session, but I am here for all your dog training needs. You’ll be free to drop me a text and I’ll help you out in your day to day training with your dog as you practice the techniques you’ve picked up.
What you will need to bring to your lesson:
Ensure you bring a hungry dog. Concept training is reward based. A great reward for most dogs is food.
Please bring the food you would normally feed your dog before the session ie. Morning session, their breakfast. Evening session, their dinner.
You can also bring extra treats, sausage, chicken as higher value rewards.
We do use toys as well. You will be asked to bring toys to some sessions.
Please don’t over walk your dog on the day of their training session. The training is hard work for your dog and they will be physically and mentally tired out by it.
Please bring a bed of some kind. A raised bed or something with raised sides.
Our puppy training classes run Wednesday mornings from 11am for one hour. Our adult dog training classes run Saturday morning at 11am for 75 minutes.
